“I know it is cliché but we really are a family here at SCB. We go out of our way to help each other in both our professional and personal lives.

Some examples:
Libby, from the bank’s central loan processing department calling the hospital and finding which room I was in, just so she could check on me after I had surgery. I have no idea how she even knew I was in the hospital, but I was so touched that she cared enough to call and check on me. I had been working at the bank for 6 months.

Or Brent Whaley who worked in the same branch with me, coming (multiple times) to pick me up in snow storms and driving me to and from work at the Gatlinburg branch. At the time I drove a Ford Mustang and there was no way I could make it. I do not exactly live “on the way” for him either and he has to drive 45 minutes to get to work already on a “normal” day.

Those are just a few examples of how we are a family.

I will also be forever grateful to coworkers who showed up at my grandfather’s funeral. I was very touched that they cared enough to take time out of their lives to support me. I don’t think you will find the kind of genuine kindness and respect for one another in many other workplaces.”
